Next up in our exploration of Queer flags is Trans Next up in our exploration of Queer flags is Trans and Pansexual!

The Trans Flag represents those whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.

The light blue and light pink are the traditional colors for baby girls and baby boys, respectively. The white represents intersex, transitioning, or a neutral or undefined gender.

Conversely, the Pansexual Flag is used to describe people who are attracted to people of any gender.

According to most definitions, the pink represents people who are female identified. The blue represents people who are male identified, and the yellow represents nonbinary attraction.

Posted @withregram • @who Safe abortion care is Posted @withregram • @who Safe abortion care is essential to protect the health of women & girls everywhere.
Removing access to #abortion care will put more women & girls at risk of illegal abortions and the consequent safety issues that would bring.

Every year over 25 million unsafe abortions take place and up to 37,000 women die.

Evidence shows that restricting access to abortion does not reduce the number of abortions that occur.
Restrictions are, however, more likely to drive women and girls towards unsafe procedures.
You may not recognize these lesser-known Queer Pri You may not recognize these lesser-known Queer Pride flags, so let’s get you up to speed! 🏳️‍🌈

First is the Nonbinary flag which describes people who experience their gender identity and/or gender expression outside of the man/woman gender binary.

The yellow stripe stands for people whose gender exists outside of the binary. The white, people with many genders. The purple, people with a mix of male and female genders. And the black, those who identify as not having a gender.

Next is ‘Two-Spirit’ - a modern umbrella term used by some indigenous North Americans to describe gay, lesbian, bisexual, and gender-variant individuals in their communities.

While some have found the term ‘Two-Spirit’ a useful tool for intertribal organizing, not all Native cultures conceptualize gender or sexuality this way, and most tribes use names in their own languages.

In this flag, the two feathers represent masculine and feminine identities. The circle represents the unification of masculine and feminine identities into a separate gender. The rainbow represents the modern era.

It should also be noted that many Nonbinary people (and queer people in general) prefer to use the pronouns they/them. Using incorrect pronouns, while usually accidental, is minimizing and inconsiderate. If you’re having a tricky time understanding the concept of they/them pronouns, check out Clo’s informative blog post! It’s a lot less scary and complicated than it’s made out to be.

Did you know that essentially every letter of the Did you know that essentially every letter of the Queer alphabet has a representative flag?

The ol’ ‘L’ and ‘G’ in LGBTQ+ (which stands from Lesbian and Gay) both feature a spectrum of fun stripes!

In the Gay Men’s Pride Flag the range of blue/green tones is meant to represent gay men of every gender including, but not limited to, transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming men!

Meanwhile the colors in the Lesbian Pride Flag have more specific meanings. From top to bottom, each stripe correlates to: Gender non-conformity, Independence, Community, Unique relationships to womanhood, Serenity and peace, Love and sex, and Femininity.
