TCS Service Project Drawstring Bag Kit
In honor of our 5th anniversary, we’re collaborating with the Missoula YWCA to make pillowcases and drawstring canvas bags for children and mothers in need.
Because COVID-19 cases are currently on the rise in Montana, this service project will occur virtually. On Saturday November 7th Kate will be filming instructional videos on how to assemble this bag, as well a pillowcase. You can find the videos on Facebook or on the TCS YouTube page.
The Drawstring Bag Material Kit contains:
- 5/8ths of a yard 54″ canvas (pictured left)
- 1.5 yards twill ribbon
- 2.75 yards draw cord
This kit is free and we hope as many sewers will participate as possible! If you are not local but want to contribute to your own YWCA, we are happy to send you this free kit but ask that you pay for priority shipping.
For those that are local and planning to donate their bag or pillowcase to the Missoula YWCA, we recommend selecting the ‘local pick-up’ option upon check-out. Then just swing by the shop when you’re able and we can run your kit out to you. Additionally, to limit the risk of passing on COVID-19, we ask that you drop your completed bag/pillowcase off at The Confident Stitch by November 21st so that they can be washed before being delivered to the YWCA.
*For simplicity’s sake we are not taking fabric requests.
