The Zipper Class: Monday, January 13th & Tuesday, January 14th, from 6 – 8:30pm
At first glance, a zipper is rather innocuous. Most of us don’t notice them until we’re either told by a pattern to install one, or something we own is no longer functioning. Sometimes pattern instructions will have a 16 step zipper insertion process when only three steps are necessary. With Jen’s simple and effective techniques for zipper installation, you’ll realize you don’t need fancy materials, expensive tools, or even a lot of time! So, if you’ve ever felt intimidated by the prospect of sewing in a zipper, this class is for you. We will cover all things zipper, including:
- Anatomy 101
- Choosing the best option for your project.
- Repairing and/or replacing
- Tips and tricks for a successful installation.
- Hands on practice.
Zippers are EVERYWHERE. The goal of this class is to help you get comfortable and confident enough to include them in your future sewing endeavors.
- 1/2 yard of quilting cotton, or 2 fat quarters.
- 4 small zippers selected for you by the instructor
- Matching thread
The supplies, with a 15% discount, will cost less than $20 and can be purchased (with help from the instructor) 15 minutes before the start of class.
