This free-trade, medium weight cotton from India has beautiful texture. It is more loosely woven than a quilting cotton, which gives it a soft drape perfect for tops, dresses, shirts, and more.

This high quality dry oilskin, made in the UK, is drier and crisper than other oilskins, (and less waxy than a traditional waxed cotton) with a matt appearance.

A water resistant (though not water proof) fabric, Dry Oilskin is treated with an emulsified wax. This binds a wax-based product with water to give a non-oily finish, then the solutions are heat-processed into the cloth for a longer lasting finish and higher performance. Plus, the finish is vegan!

• Unlike normal oilskin there would be no oil transfer so you don’t need to line your garment or bag.
• After consistent use, you can easily ‘re-proof’ the water resistance using Merchant & Mills Reproofing Spray.

This linen-rayon blend has a nice heft but is also drapey – and, it’s washable! By combining rayon with linen, Robert Kaufman has taken the stiffness out of the linen. Think unstructured jacket or flowy pants. 

This fabric softens after washing, and wrinkles slightly but much less than its 100% linen cousin. Highly versatile, you can make anything from the Closet Core Fiona Dress to The Sewing Workshop Liberty Shirt to the M&M 101 Trousers using this awesome, affordable fabric.

Silk Noil is soft, breathable, and oh-so-sewable! It’s silk, but it’s not slippery. Instead, it’s slubby and drapey. It also washes well! While it does shrink a bit, you can throw it in the washer and dryer no problem. Try making a flirty Florence Top or Cottage Shirt out of this gorgeous fabric.

Big Sur 100% cotton canvas has a visible weave and feels a lot like Carhartt canvas! It’s on the heavier side at 9.6 oz. per square yard, and we’d love to make a pair of Closet Core Files Morgan Boyfriend Jeans or a Kelly Anorak out of this fabric.
