Robert Kaufman Brussels Washer Linen in Yarn-Dyed Red

This linen-rayon blend is pretty beefy, but also drapey. And, it’s washable! By combining rayon with linen, Robert Kaufman has taken the stiffness out of the linen. Think unstructured jacket or flow-y pants. This fabric wrinkles less than 100% linen, but it still wrinkles. “Yarn-Dye” means the warp yarns are one color, and the weft yarns are another, giving the fabric a denim-like look. The Sewing Workshop’s Liberty shirt looks like a jacket using this fabric. McCall’s 6571 no-side-seam pants would also look great in this flow-y linen. Kate made a Merchant and Mills Top 64 out of this fabric and blogged about it here.

Please note, actual color may vary slightly from photo.
