Patchwork Cotton in Brown

This hand-loomed Patchwork Cotton in Brown from Merchant and Mills was grown, spun, handwoven, and pieced in India!

A truly unique fabric with no piece the same, the patchwork seams are all beautifully finished on the reverse side. Some starch has been applied to strengthen the yarn during the weaving process, but after a couple of washes, it becomes even softer and drapey-er than it already is!

Suitable for dresses, tops, and skirts, we suggest making a Shepherd Skirt, an Edie Top, or a Nicks Dress with this fabric.

This type of naturally brown cotton is pest and drought resistant which completely changes the way the cotton is farmed, without the need for chemicals or artificial irrigation. This cloth has been produced in a way that is focused on ecological sustainability, social justice, and economic stability for the farmers and weavers. It was grown, spun, and woven by hand in India with a combination of undyed and naturally dyed yarns.
