When I’m almost finished with a quilt – particularly a complicated one – I just want to be done, and I feel frustrated when the quilt binding takes a long time. And, of course, it always does take a long time because I’m trying to rush.
Invariably, I get mixed up while connecting the binding strips, and I have to rip and resew. Then, once I’ve finally sewn the binding all the way around the quilt and just have to sew the two ends together, I’m REALLY ready to be done, and I hate it when connecting the ends becomes too fiddly.
Which I Ha-a-a-a-te
If you’re like me – generally impatient with whole binding process – then you’ll love The Binding Tool and pre-made quilt bindings. The Binding Tool has been around for a long time, but it is new to me. It does all the measuring for you so connecting the short ends of your binding turns out perfect every time, with no fiddling!
Additionally, our pre-cut quilt bindings also minimize end-of-project frustration. We have just started carrying The Satin Bee pre-cut quilt bindings, which used to only be available on Etsy. Made from high-quality Riley Blake and Free Spirit fabrics, these bindings come in fun stripes and whimsical Tula Pink prints, and, they’ll add fun and zing to any quilt project!
Below you’ll find my video demonstrating how to use The (awesome) Binding Tool with a pre-made binding. Enjoy!
P.S. In my video I also mention our awesome Summer 2021 Quilting Cotton Swatch Collection! I made use of the Aqua & White Striped Quilt Binding in the featured tote project, and also included it in our Playful Picnic Lap Quilt Kit! Learn more about our unique Swatch Service here.
